Our Mission
North Star Counseling, LLC was created with the understanding that unique individuals benefit most from unique therapeutic techniques. Inspired by the owner’s late therapy dog, Walter, who was anything but ordinary, we strive to collaborate with clients to create a unique treatment plan utilizing expressive arts therapy, EMDR, parts work, mindfulness and meditation, reiki, and more.

Kaylee Dalaba, LMHC R-DMT
Founder/Lead Clinician
Kaylee is a licensed mental health counselor with a master of science in dance/movement therapy from Sarah Lawrence College. In sessions, she uses a client-centered approach and believes that the therapeutic relationship is the most important tool in building a foundation for healing. Kaylee is also an avid fan, and participant, in the arts, and enjoys performing with local community theaters. Kaylee would be a good fit for a client looking to try a less traditional approach to therapy and is open to incorporating expressive and somatic-based practices into their therapy sessions. -

Bailey
Therapy Dog in Training
Meet our furriest team member, Bailey. Bailey may join sessions upon request by the client and will remain with the clinician at all times. This lovable goofball is happy to support you in sessions with her affectionate nature. Bailey is a 6yo female who enjoys attention, treats, and long walks on the beach…and really anywhere else.

Walter
The Inspiration
The late therapy dog, Walter, served 5 years as a therapy dog in nursing home and outpatient therapy settings. Walter was a member of the owner, Kaylee’s, family beginning in 2014 and has brought light to the lives of anyone he crossed paths with. His light shines on through inspiring the mission and creation of North Star Counseling, LLC. Walter enjoyed spending time with his people, providing support to clients, and trying to eat art supplies during expressive arts therapy sessions.
